“10 Awkward Situations for Ex-Lovers”

Not that there is ever a “good” time to run into an ex-lover, but some times are definitely worse than others. There can be a air of comedy about some of these situations, but they are anything but humorous to the active participants. Whether former couples meet accidentally or by design doesn’t really matter that much, the situation will be uncomfortable for all concerned. The following scenarios are engineered to rebuild some of your self-esteem, as you get a glimpse of how things could have been.

Parents – It’s always such a treat to run into your ex’s parents, and even more so if your former Significant Other has somehow neglected to tell the folks about the breakup–even though it occurred two years ago!
Chance Encounter – There’s nothing like making that mad morning-dash to pick up the newspaper in the driveway. . .while wearing your pizza-stained bathrobe. . .and having your ex roll by with their new lover in their even-newer Mercedes.
Church – It can be discomfiting when the reverend pulls you aside after Sunday services to ask how the nuptial plans are proceeding, and then thanks you profusely for hiring his mother, the caterer, and his brother, the photographer, to work your wedding.
Work – Not that your co-workers are a tough bunch, but you do recall all the good times you and your buddies had at the expense of the last dumped-on unfortunate, and that you were one of the ringleaders of the vocal posse. Now it’s your turn in-the-barrel.
Children – When children are part of a relationship, the uncomfortable moments can be magnified during a breakup. It is incumbent upon the adults to act as adults when children are present. Children understand a lot more than most adults give them credit for, so some consideration for their feelings is very important.
BFF – When your soon-to-be ex-best friend shows up at your apartment with an arm around your all-too-recent ex-lover, the situation can become as prickly as a cactus.
School – Classic painful moments can occur when a pair of broken hearts have both auditioned for, and won, the leads in the school production of Romeo and Juliet.
Restaurant – If you take your new flame to a restaurant that you picked because you and your ex never went there, that will be the night your ex does the same thing.
Court – You don’t want to encounter your ex at the courthouse. You might just be there to renew your dog’s license, but that won’t be the story that ends up hitting the streets..
Lovers Hideaway – It is generally considered rather bad form to take a new lover anyplace that you and your ex ever called “Our Special Place”. It is extremely bad form when you and your ex repeat the gaffe from #8.

Seriously, if you’re intent on “moving on” with your life, it helps to maintain a thick skin, and to cultivate a sense-of-humor.

TANGIBLE DESTINY

                                                                  TANGIBLE DESTINY

It was around 8:30pm, he gave a 30 bucks and walked slowly down the line with the unknown track of his path. Don't know which way to choose, but he was sure to dig all those memories he had left in his temporal lobe. His little heart was full of complication story, "It was my fault that I talked with u ! ! ! ","I never wanna talk with, don't dare to call me!", he sat near the platform crossing the masses, the train was 2hrs late. She became zombie, he had a tangible hurt deep inside which made him more excruciating. The time he could recall was the only moment when they both were busy ending night calls, messaging was a favorite time-pass they ever had. There came a time when every moment was precious for them. Those thought was very unreal, and somehow she was never a zombie before.

A girl was coeval & exquisite in her mid 20. Distance played a vital role and it was the reason of bonding them for last nearly 05 months. Innocent of disguise was tyranny for him. Every rose has its throne, and he was quite sure for that. He had a numerous countless thoughts and it was not possible to handle by his tensed brain. He grabbed his smart-phone and the music was only his soul-friend, "That's Why U Go-MLTR", his every-green song. Slowly the waiting room was about to void, he opened the small tourist guide-book of KOLKATA and searched for his foot-steps. He had covered almost all the major regions, city-Metro was closed at Sunday. Since he was from North-East all the people were staring at him as if he was a foreign-tourist, he got a city map. He laid down in a wooden bench with a broken thoughts while she was unknown or not-concerned of him, and he dont know how they got in abysmal situation. He couldn't remember why she was fighting with no-reasons, doing only things out of box & suddenly he stopped receiving emails/msgs. He was fallen from the mountain high, tried to connect but she warned not to call/msgs.

It was a day when he was on his craziest way to fly Calcutta. His friend told him the frivolous impact of visiting her, but he made his mind. He had 7K bucks in his wallet dat was for his new handset. That was eve-night and New-Delhi is a city of chance rick accident. He went city station to purchased a ticket that was double of original price. He messaged her at-least dozen a day, but sorry it was unreachable. She never got a chance to call him, he was on huge shock how could this happen to her. With in a week she twist her back to him. He tried to connect through her profile but was not of any use. He had a petty situation. By hook or by cook he manage to land at his destination. He feels glad to see the giant "HOWRA BRIDGE", it was his first visit, he could see the wooden buses and old vehicles. Yeah his friends were true that KOLKATA is very dirty and peoples over there are shameless, but he didnt had any link with them. His purpose was not to see those slums or crowd, instead searched her location. He called her more than a century but shit ! ! ! nothing last forever... after his days long call she received it, without any HELLO she pour her anger at him."How dare u came KOLKATA huh!!! I don't wanna see ur face, go away its waste of ur time. You were special for me, but now its over". His heart was dimmed and the ray of hope seems to fade while listening her tyranny words.
He was very unknown what was happened to her at that time. Where he gone wrong? Is this a revenge or wat ? Really it was a big hit. The hope was hopeless and faith in her went in vain. That's a huge mystery in his chapter of life. By then he realized that Destiny is not a matter of choice, its a matter of chance. He had a thunder of queries relating those tragedy happened with him. Should He blame in his fate? He was totally numb and switched to silent mode, couldn't outer a single words owing peoples are responsible for what he was/is/will.
A big noise crossed her ear drum and he could see his last LALKILA EXPRESS. That 2 day gave him a new lesson of a new begging to start a fresh morning. He saw KOLKATA STATION for the last time in his age, by then it was already 10:30pm and the train moved towards NEW-DELHI.

Magical Invention of "Father of TOUCHSCREEN" - Steve Jobs

I was heard about this name "STEVE JOBS" in late 2010 when I was about to complete my Diploma (Computer Science and Technology). Now I think I dont I have to say about him, though he left his innovative technology for the rest of the world, and changed it the we use it today. May his soul rest in peace R.I.P. Sir Steve Jobs.Father of TOUCHSCREEN.

I am very touched by his invention he change the field of technology and science. Steve Jobs may just be the greatest inventor of our age. We dug through Google Patents and found that Steve Jobs is listed as the primary or co-inventor on 241 patents. Granted, some of those inventions were duds, no doubt. But some were pure genius, and did nothing less than completely change the way we use technology in our lives.
So as he prepares to walk away from the company he built, left, and rebuilt into something bigger than anyone thought possible, let's take a walk through some of his inventions that moved the technological world. We found the the original drawing submitted with every patent application submitted by Steve and his teams, along with the eventual Apple device that changed everything.

Magical Inventions of Steve Jobs

Apple III (1980)
It's easy to say the Apple III was a commercial failure, because it was. As Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak put it, the primary reason it failed was that the Apple III was designed by the marketing department, instead of engineering. Perhaps. However, there always exists a struggle between form and function, and it takes a true visionary who can bridge both design and capability. Sometimes failures are the best lessons.

iMac G3 (1998)
Of all the great Apple products in the last 35 years, the iMac G3 is truly iconic. It symbolized the return of Steve Jobs to the top spot in the company, and showed how high he immediately set the bar for innovative and disruptive design. Apple quipped "the back of our computer looks better than the front of anyone else's". And Apple has never looked back.

iMac G4 (2002)
The New iMac was only on the market for a couple of years, but it took desktop computer design in a completely new direction. Again.

USB Mouse (1998)
OK, we know how you felt about this one, and trust us, we felt the same way. But the Hockey Puck most certainly does speak to the boundaries that Cupertino design was willing to cross once Jobs came back to the helm.

iPod (2001)
This was the game changer, really. The runaway success of the iPod, and with it iTunes, opened the floodgates for not only the portable device market, but for the digital download marketplace as well. The iPhone, App Store, and the iPad all came to be because the world fell in love with this little device.

iPhone OS / iOS (2007)
iOS is the leading mobile device operating system in the world. It is simple, powerful, and beautiful, and the iPad and iPhone would not be the market-changing devices they are without it.

Magic Mouse (2009)
Look Ma, no wheels! When the Magic Mouse was released in 2009, it was the first consumer mouse to have multi-touch capabilities. Ok, Steve, this one makes up for the hockey puck.

iPod Shuffle (2010)
The latest and current version of the iPod Shuffle shows how far the device has come, and how focused Steve Jobs still is on simplifying design to its core element.

iPhone 4 (2010)
The iPhone 4 is the breakthrough model. It is the iPhone that crossed over from AT&T to Verizon, and it is the iPhone that has captured the world -- both in style and design as well as sales. It is the iPhone Steve Jobs will carry in his pocket as he hands the reins over over to Tim Cook... that is unless he managed to grab an iPhone 5 on the way out.

iPad (2010)
A device that critics said no one needed. A device that competitors said is just a fad. A device is truly magical and revolutionary in every way and completely changed the way we use, and define, computers. Thanks, Steve. For everything.

Hence these are the magical invention of Steve Jobs.

Do u know him - Anna Hazare ?

Dear NRI Brothers and Sisters,
In whichever country you might be living at the moment, you might be remembering your motherland and will be delighted to know what's happening here. Yes, moments of great action is going on here since this great soul Anna Hazare took up hunger strike demanding implementation of a powerful anti-corruption Lok Pal Bill. Here's Anna's biography in brief:

1. Who is Anna Hazare?
An ex-army man. Fought 1965 Indo-Pak War.

2. What's so special about him?
He built a village Ralegaon Siddhi in Ahamad Nagar district, Maharashtra

3. So what?
This village is a self-sustained model village. Energy is produced in the village itself from solar power, biofuel and wind mills. In 1975, it used to be a poverty clad village. Now it is one of the richest village in India . It has become a model for self-sustained, eco-friendly & harmonic village.

4. Ok,...?
This guy, Anna Hazare was awarded Padma Bhushan and is a known figure for his social activities. He was also conferred with Raman Magsaysay Award in recognition of his outstanding social service.

5. Really, what is he fighting for?
He is supporting a cause, the amendment of a law to curb corruption in India .

6. How that can be possible?
He is advocating for a Bill, The Lok Pal Bill (The Citizen Ombudsman Bill), that will form an autonomous authority who will make politicians (ministers), beurocrats (IAS/IPS) accountable for their deeds.

8. It's an entirely new thing right..?
In 1972, the bill was proposed by then Law minister Mr. Shanti Bhushan. Since then it has been neglected by the politicians and some are trying to change the bill to suit thier theft (corruption).

7. Oh.. He is going on a hunger strike for that whole thing of passing a Bill ! How can that be possible in such a short span of time?

The first thing he is asking for is: the government should come forward and announce that the bill is going to be passed.
Next, they make a joint committee to DRAFT the LOK PAL BILL. 50% goverment participation and 50% public participation. Because you cant trust the government entirely for making such a bill which does not suit them.

8. Fine, What will happen when this bill is passed?

A LokPal will be appointed at the centre. He will have an autonomous charge, say like the Election Commission of India. In each and every state, Lokayukta will be appointed. The job is to bring all alleged party to trial in case of corruptions within 1 year. Within 2 years, the guilty will be punished. Not like, Bofors scam or Bhopal Gas Tragedy case, that has been going for last 25 years without any result.

9. Is he alone? Whoelse is there in the fight with Anna Hazare?
Baba Ramdev, Ex. IPS Kiran Bedi, Social Activist Swami Agnivesh, RTI activist Arvind Kejriwal and many more.
Prominent personalities like Aamir Khan is supporting his cause.

10. Ok, got it. What can I do?
* At least we can spread the message. How?
Putting status message, links, video, changing profile pics.
* At least we can support Anna Hazare and the cause for uprooting corruption     from India.
* At least we can hope that his Hunger Strike does not go in vain.
* At least we can pray for his good health.
Good Luck to all of us and our Motherland!

FB and Twitter making kids dumber

Social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter are making teen web surfers dumber, says a study of Australian parents.

New cyber-safety research commissioned by Telstra also revealed that parents believe the sites are affecting their kids' health and wellbeing.

The research revealed that 65 per cent of parents with children using social media say it distracts them from their homework, contributing to lethargic learning.

A quarter of parents say their tech-savvy teens spend more than seven hours a week connecting with friends, while less than 40 per cent fear the behaviour is affecting their children's wellbeing.

Cyber safety expert Dr Martyn Wild said parents were often unaware of what their children were doing online.

"The answer is not turning off internet access, rather it's about implementing simple behavioural changes in your children and setting realistic expectations about their use of the internet," News.com.au quoted Dr Wild as saying.

He said setting "house rules" for internet use such as placing computers in a common area and setting time restrictions on social network use helped keep teens focused on their studies.

The research, conducted by Newspoll, revealed 84 per cent of 14 to 17-year-olds use a social network and almost half of 10 to 13-year-olds use sites such as Facebook.

Cauliflower is a cancer killer...M LOVING IT ! ! !

NEW DELHI: Are you addicted to your gobi sabzi? If you're, it augurs well for your health. Cauliflower or other cruciferous vegetables like broccoli protect against cancer.

Sulforaphane — one of the primary phytochemicals in these vegetables — has been shown for the first time to selectively target and kill cancer cells while leaving normal prostate cells healthy and unaffected.

The findings, made by scientists in the Linus Pauling Institute at the Oregon State University, are another important step forward for the potential use of sulforaphone in cancer prevention and treatment.

Clinical prevention trials are under way for its use in these areas, particularly prostate and breast cancer.

It appears that sulforaphane, which is found at fairly high levels in broccoli, cauliflower and other cruciferous vegetables, is an inhibitor of histone deacetylase, or HDAC enzymes. HDAC inhibition is one of the more promising fields of cancer treatment, and is being targeted from both a pharmaceutical and dietary approach, scientists say.

"It's important to demonstrate that sulforaphane is safe if we propose to use it in cancer prevention or therapies," said Emily Ho, a principal investigator in the Linus Pauling Institute, the study's lead author.

"Just because a phytochemical or nutrient is found in food doesn't always mean its safe, and a lot can also depend on the form or levels consumed,' Ho said. "But this does appear to be a phytochemical that can selectively kill cancer cells, and that's always what you look for in cancer therapies," she added/

The findings were published in the journal "Molecular Nutrition and Food Research."

The research was supported by the National Cancer Institute and National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences.

HDACs are a family of enzymes that, among other things, affect access to DNA and play a role in whether certain genes are expressed or not, such as tumor suppressor genes.

Some of the mechanisms that help prevent inappropriate cell growth – the hallmark of cancer – are circumvented in cancer cells.

HDAC inhibitors can help "turn on' these silenced genes and restore normal cellular function.

Previous studies done with mouse models showed that prostate tumor growth was slowed by a diet containing sulforaphane.

"It is well documented that sulforaphane can target cancer cells through multiple chemopreventive mechanisms," the researchers stated in their study. "Here we show for the first time that sulforaphane selectively targets benign hyperplasia cells and cancerous prostate cells while leaving the normal prostate cells unaffected," they said.

"These findings regarding the relative safety of sulforaphane to normal tissues have significant clinical relevance as the use of sulforaphane moves towards use in human clinical trials," they added.

The results also suggest that consumption of sulforaphane-rich food are non-toxic, safe, simple and affordable.

Zuckerberg: Under-13s Won't Be Allowed on Facebook Just Yet

Breathe a sigh of relief, parents. Your pre-teens aren't lawfully wreaking havoc on Facebook anytime soon (though we know those sneaky young'ins exist illegally in droves on the site).

Mark Zuckerberg has set the record straight about his stance on underage kids on the social networking site: It's a conversation that should happen, but Facebook isn't working on any such initiative right now.

"That's just not top of the list of things for us to figure out right now," said Zuckerberg at the e-G8 Internet forum in Paris Wednesday, Reuters reports. "Some time in the future, I think it makes sense to explore that, but we're not working on it right now."

Media reports recently buzzed that Zuckerberg had not only acknowledged the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act made it hard for kids under 13 to access web services like Facebook but also said he wanted to change this. But now he's claiming that these comments were taken out of context.

Zuckerberg said at this time he isn't saying that children under 13 should be allowed on Facebook but that the issue warrants discussion, especially for educational purposes.

“If children under 13 ever were [allowed to get on Facebook] we'd need to find a way for them to be safe,” he said.

Does Distance Matter?: Geographically Close vs. Long-Distance Relationships

Long Distance Relationship [img src : identitymagazine.net]
In this season of high school and college graduations, many dating partners are likely facing the prospects of being geographically separated. What should these dating partners know about long-distance relationships? Are long-distance relationships substantially different from ones that are geographically close? A first thing to know is that long-distance relationships (LDRs) are very common, with as many as 70% of college students at some point dating someone who lives far away from them.1 Even beyond college, employment opportunities and military service mean that many romantic partners spend substantial amounts of time away from one another. Scholars have accordingly focused their attention on whether (and how) LDRs differ from relationships that are geographically close (GCRs).

There is good news for LDR dating partners. Generally, studies find that LDR dating partners are not significantly different from GCR dating partners in terms of how close, affectionate, and nurturing they are with each other, and they are no more likely to break up over a 3-month period.2 Further, LDR dating partners actually report being more in love with each other and engaging in higher quality communication than GCR dating partners.3 These research findings indicate that LDR and GCR dating partners are more alike than different in terms of a number of important relationship characteristics.

Hopefully, these research findings will allow people in LDRs (or about to starting dating long-distance) to breathe a sigh of relief: distance is a common component of dating, and does not necessarily spell doom for the relationship.

5 Things you should never reveal online

Think twice before you share [src: webconferencingcouncil.com]
You may love being online, but that doesn't mean you can reveal all. Here are somethings that should be kept under wraps:

Intimate photos or videos: Something that you post in the heat of the moment may come back to haunt you many years later. Anything that's once posted online can never be deleted completely. So make sure that you don't post something that you may not want you colleagues, boss, siblings or parents to see.

Your phone number: And for that matter even your address. Even if you think that you can trust you e-friend, don't be naive. Similarly don't give out you address for some lucky draw. This very lucky draw may prove 'unlucky' for you.

Don't post any abuses: If you have some complaints against you boss or teachers don't write messages against them over the net. For starters, it can be easily traced back to you. Wouldn't you rather talk about your complaints face-to-face with your boss than miss out on that promotion you were vying for.

Bank details: It's one thing to pay your bills online over secure websites, but never ever can you give out your account number or your ATM pincodes. Don't take such risk no matter what the emergency is. If someone asks you for such details be suspicious of them.

Minute-by-minute details: It's one thing to tell people how you feel or crack a joke a two over the net, but don't give out details like 'going out for groceries' or 'heading to the local bar'.

A Paralyzed Man Gets Help Through Facebook

A Southern Colorado man's service dogs had to be put down recently, but thanks to our 11 News Facebook page, one woman has stepped up to help the family. Both say it's incredible how our Facebook page brought them together and that their meeting is a like small miracle.

With a history of medical issues, Grant Archibald has been paralyzed from the waist down since 1993. While in surgery to repair a tethered spinal cord, doctors found something else.

"They had to remove a tumor off the base of my spinal cord. I walked in but I didn't walk out," Archibald recalls.

For ten years he had two service dogs by his side, Thunder and Lightning. This year, he lost both to cancer.

"They are life savers. I mean these dogs can do just about anything. When I had to say goodbye, it was probably, it was like my right arm was taken off," Archibald said.

In desperate need of help, 11 News spread the word about his situation on our facebook page and it was Stefanie Loney's neighbor who showed her our post and got her involved.

Loney’s dogs recently had a litter of ten puppies which was a surprise for the family. But once she knew they could help, she was more than happy to do it.

"It's like I want to help people, and if I can, I will,” Loney said. “To have puppies and help him to have a better life, why not?"

Sunday, Loney and her family brought four pure bred German Shepherd puppies to Archibald’s home. She let him choose two as he begins the training process all over.

"For somebody to do this out of the goodness of their heart, that just amazes me. That amazes me, I mean that, is real magic," Archibald said happily.

"Just to see him (Archibald) talk about the puppies and being so overwhelmed with happiness makes me happy," Loney said smiling.

After an hour of watching the puppies play around his wheelchair, Archibald selected two. They’ll be named Rolex and Bulova, his "watch" dogs.

"It was one of the best things anybody's ever done for me," Archibald said tearing up.

Archibald also says this act of kindness by Loney and her family helped him put his faith back in the Colorado Springs community and their willingness to help those who need it.

People are still offering to help. Sunday night, an anonymous donor gave 11 News a check for $200 to help Archibald and his wife offset the cost of shots and anything else they might need to get these puppies started on their training. When 11 News told Archibald over the phone, not only was he very happy, but he could be heard getting choked up.

Parents Name Their Kid 'Like,' After Facebook

In a Seinfeldian example of weird baby names, a couple in Israel has taken inspiration from Facebook and named their baby daughter "Like."

Lior and Vardit Adler fancied the idea of giving their child a unique name, Haaretz reports. Like had a nice ring to it, they decided, while also representing the age of social networking. "If once people gave Biblical names and that was the icon, then today this is one of the most famous icons in the world," Lior Adler said.

Not surprisingly, the Adlers' friends couldn't believe the name, although they probably should've expected something off-beat; the family's other two children are named Pie and Dvash, the Hebrew word for honey. I'm reminded of the Seinfeld episode in which Costanza decides on the name Seven for his firstborn.

I suppose baby Like is a testament to the success of Facebook's Like button, which launched nearly a year ago and is now ubiquitous on the web. Like has inspired Google to create its own +1 button, but to my knowledge no one has named a baby after it. I'm also not aware of any babies named Reddit, Digg, StumbleUpon or Yahoo! Buzz.

Lady Gaga is first celebrity with 10m Twitter followers

Lady Gaga has become the first celebrity to get more than 10 million followers on social networking site Twitter.

The US singer thanked fans for supporting her.

She said: "10 Million Monsters! I'm speechless, we did it! It's an illness how I love you. Leaving London smiling."

Lady Gaga is headlining this year's Radio 1 Big Weekend, which is taking place in Carlisle.

The star became the first person to pass nine million followers on Twitter in March and overtook Britney Spears last August.

Britney Spears was only on top for three months after claiming the number one spot from Hollywood actor Ashton Kutcher.

Lady Gaga also has 24 million likes, or fans, on Facebook but is behind Eminem and the Facebook and Texas Hold'em Poker pages.

Twitter and Facebook Know Where You've Been Online? Do Not Like

For those who like to Like things on Facebook or tweet them to friends, beware: You're telling your social media much more about you than you might think.

A study carried out on behalf of the Wall Street Journal found that "Like" and "Tweet" widgets on websites track users' movements across the internet even when they're not used, with Facebook admitting to sharing data for advertising purposes only when the widget is clicked on. Twitter, meanwhile, claims to delete the information quickly, although a spokesman said that the company "could in theory use the data to 'surface better content' for users in the future."

The study, carried out by former Google engineer Brian Kennish's new comapny, Disconnect Inc., surveyed the 1,000 most popular sites online according to Google, and found that Facebook collected browsing data from 331 of them, with Twitter collecting data from "about 200." The collection of browsing data is described by their creators as an "unintended side-effect" of the way that the widgets work, with Facebook's CTO Bret Taylor telling the WSJ "We don't use them for tracking and they're not intended for tracking." Well, not yet, at least.

Bottle Opener Concept Connects to Facebook, Invites People Over

Wouldn't it be grand if every time you opened a beer, Facebook automatically created an event and invited all your friends over? I know that every time I sit down to enjoy a series of smooth draws from a delicious craft IPA after a long day of work, I'm thinking, "Hey, I wish everyone I knew on Facebook could be here to watch me drink this thing."
Bottle opener concept created by two students in Germany.

You initially link the bottle opener up with your Facebook account, and then the magic happens:

"When a beer is opened, it directly creates a Facebook event at your location, inviting friends from your city."

There's a potential Heineken-sponsored upside to having everyone you know show up at your house, too: "Get as many people to RSVP as possible and whoever has the most friends attending gets a free Heineken case for next weekend!" You might want to check how much a case of Heineken costs in your neck of the woods to decide if it's really worth all the trouble.

Thankfully (or unfortunately), this is all still just a concept at the moment.

10 Signs Your Relationship Will End Badly

Have you ever gotten dumped and then thought, ‘I should have seen it coming.’ Often times there are tell-tale signs that your relationship will end badly. Here are some of those signs to watch for.

   1. Your partner has always been the one to leave a relationship. If your partner has never been dumped by someone else, if they were always the one to break off previous relationships, then you can be pretty certain that your relationship will end in a similar way. Don’t expect long term commitment from this person.

   2. Your partner continues to talk about their previous partner. If your partner is always talking about their previous partner, even if it’s in a negative way, then that other person is obviously still on their mind in a big way. Chances are that they’ll get back together with them if they are given the opportunity. At the very least, you are only a secondary option in their mind.

   3. Your partner treats you with disrespect in public. Do they ridicule you in front of others? Do they reveal personal things about you to their friends? Do they ignore you at parties but give plenty of attention to other girls/guys that are there? This is a relationship that isn’t worth hanging on to and you will be better off the sooner it ends.

   4. You find out they cheated on you the first month your were together. If they were cheating on you at the beginning, then they probably still are and will continue to do so. They will either leave you for someone else or hurt you enough times that you’ll finally end it yourself.

   5. You continually catch them lying. Are they continually lying about where they were or who they were with? This is a big neon sign that a relationship with this person is going to be one of broken trust. The future is certain to bring heartbreak.

   6. You have very little in common. At the beginning of a new romance, your differences can seem insignificant, but overtime, a lack of common interests can take a toll on a relationship. You will find it hard to enjoy your times together when one of you isn’t enjoying the activities that the other does. Eventually you’ll both want to go back to doing the things you enjoy and not what the other person enjoys.

   7. They don’t like your friends. How can a person be in love with you and not like the people that you like to hang with? Common sense will tell you that if they don’t like the people you like, eventually they’ll decide that they don’t like you either.

   8. They are continually asking to borrow money. This is a big warning sign that you should not ignore. Once or twice, not a big deal, but if your partner, male or female, is always asking to borrow money from you, there’s a problem. If they get mad when you say no, then it’s time for you to head down the road in another direction. Financial dependence is a terrible basis for a relationship.

   9. They are married to someone else. Yes, there are situations where a married person divorces their spouse and marries the ‘other person,’ but it is the exception rather than the rule. If you are in a relationship with someone who is already married to someone else, you are setting yourself up for heartache

  10. They don’t want you to meet their family. Don’t shrug this one off. When your partner doesn’t want you to meet their family there is usually a reason. The reason may be because they don’t want you to see what their family is like. No matter how wonderful the person may seem, if you are wanting a long term relationship with them, their family will come into play in that relationship.

Why prolong a relationship that has all the signs of leading to heartbreak? If you see the signs, the sooner you bring it to an end the better, for both you and them

In Love, pain is blessing

Love is painful, but the pain is certainly a blessing. Love is painful because love brings growth. Love demands, transforms and is painful because love gives you a new birth.

Love brings your heart into relationship -- and when the heart is in relationship there is always pain. If you avoid the pain, you will miss all pleasures of life. With love you become human; you stand erect on earth. With love you are vertical.

With love are problems. But with problems is growth -- the greater the problem, the greater the opportunity. More and more pain, too.

That's why many people never love -- it is so painful. They never become vertical.

Love never shatters you completely. It simply shatters you a little, a little bit. It shatters the crust of your ego, but the centre of the ego remains intact. Then there is a deeper pain, deeper than love, and that is of prayer -- it shatters you utterly. It is death. When you have learnt how to love, and you have learnt that the pain that love brings is a blessing in disguise, it is beautiful, then you become able and you take another step -- that step is prayer.

All lovers feel a little miserable. They would like to disappear completely, but it is not possible in human relationships. Human relationship is limited. But one learns from it, that there is a possibility: if it can happen so much in a human relationship, how much more can happen in a relationship with the Divine?

Love makes you ready to take the final jump, the quantum leap. That's what I call prayer, or you can call it meditation. You have to disappear for existence to be. Love is a training ground, a school, to learn first lessons -- of the beauty, of the blessing and benediction of disappearance; to learn that pain is blessed.

So when you are in love, or when love arises, cooperate with it, don't try resisting. People come to a compromise. The basic problem that I have been looking at is that lovers by and by come to a compromise. The compromise is: You don't hurt me, I will not hurt you. That's what marriage is. Then people become settled. They become so afraid of pain that they say, "Don't hurt me and I will not hurt you." But then when pain disappears, love also disappears. They exist together.

When you are in love, love hurts. It hurts terribly.

But never resist, never create any barrier for pain. Allow it. And by and by you will see that it was a wrong interpretation. It is not really pain. It is just that something is going so deep in you that you interpret it like a pain. You don't know anything else. You are only aware of pain in your past life, in your past experience. Whenever something penetrates deep, you interpret it as pain.

Don't use the word 'pain'. When love and love's arrow goes deep into your heart, close your eyes and don't use words -- just see what it is, and you will never see it is pain. You will see it is a benediction. You will be tremendously moved by it. You will feel joyous.

Don't use words. When something new happens to you, always allow a deep look into it without any language.

Make your first night memorable

A little anxiety coupled with moments of anticipation and finally some wild thoughts, the perfect first night experience is often sprinkled with moments of coy reservation!

Most couples nurse nervous speculations and deep seated performance anxiety about their first night of closeness. Hearsay from newly wed friends or common beliefs picked up from random sources add to the sexual tension. Knowing the exact way to get it right is an arduous task and if gone wrong, you may end up facing a catastrophic situation in your bedroom with your first nuptial boo-boos.

We spoke to some couples to know the common blunders they made (inadvertently) on their first night. Of course, it wasn't just about 'sex' on the first night, as there were numerous other problems which could ruin the first night craze...

Boo-boo: A moment in haste and its all waste
Without much knowledge about sex, couples encountered awkward situations like premature ejaculation for men or women getting overtly apprehensive about vaginal pain and hymen bleeding. Fear is the biggest factor affecting performance on the first night.

Top Tip: Make the act more pleasurable
No person is a master sex performer, so indulge in a prolonged foreplay session to make your first night a tender bonding experience. Even if things go wrong, stay calm and try again after some time. Sometimes the wedding stress and the discomfort of an all new environment takes a mental toll. The body and mind may not be fully open for the experience of sexual discovery. Being patient is key.

Boo-boo: Experiments can wait
Agreed that it's your first time with your partner, but don't get overtly excited. Couples are all geared up to try new acts in bed, but first try and figure out your partner's comfort quotient.

Top Tip: Every night is a first night
Don't think that the first night is your 'one and only' chance to make love passionately, with time your bond will grow even more special with your better half. The first night is just the beginning of pleasures. Don't fret and waste it in performance anxiety!

Boo-boo: Look sexy in tradition
It's believed that a bride must remain in her wedding outfit and let the husband come and lift up the veil ('ghoongat'). But modern day brides aren't too interested in donning the ostentatious outfit for too long and the minute they enter the bedroom; they prefer to undress into a sexy lingerie/night gown. Now, no matter how sensuous your night gown maybe, it doesn't have the same charm as a wedding ensemble. This fashion faux pas forms a lesser known, but common goof-up for brides.

Top Tip: Gifts Galore
As the husband lifts up the veil of the bride's wedding outfit, she's entitled to a surprise gift (for 'mooh dikhayee'). Rings, pendants, necklaces are passé; think of something out-of-the-blue, maybe a romantic honeymoon package, which she would be least expecting or a glamorous outfit, a transparent, hot dress, which you'd like her to get clad in just for your eyes.

Average couple argues 2,455 times a year

Average couple argues [img src : liquidsilverbook.com]
A new survey has discovered that the average couple  bickers 2,455 times a year - equal to almost seven times a day.

Researchers found that the biggest single reason for a tiff is not listening to what the other half is saying, which is responsible for around 112 cross exchanges a year, followed by money worries, spending issues and laziness around the house, reports the Sun .

Annoyance about over-spending, especially on impulsive or unnecessary purchases, leads to 109 disputes - with money in general being the cause of a further 108.

Laziness caused 105 outbursts while snoring provoked 102.

What to eat for dinner leads to 92 barneys a year - and 80 tiffs are about a partner walking mud into the house.

Driving too fast, walking past items that need taking upstairs and what to watch on television are the cause of conflict more than once a week.

Sex - particularly a lack of it or the timing - also causes 88 bust-ups a year.

The survey also showed the average couple will argue about disciplining the children 88 times, and have a further 79 disputes about spoiling them.

The figures were revealed in a study of 3,000 people, either married or in relationships, by esure home insurance.

"Bickering on a daily basis is all part of being in a normal, healthy relationship. The normal co-habiting couple will have to put up with each other's daily annoyances - even if they can prove to be very irritating," said a spokeswoman.

27-DAY STRIKE IN HILLS WITH SOME BREAKS

Kalimpong News : Following the publication of a report on the situation in Andhra Pradesh formed to examine the situation in the State of Andhra Pradesh with reference to the demand for a separate State of Telangana as well as the demand for maintaining the present status of a united Andhra Pradesh by Srikrishna Committee a Committee for consultation on the situation in Andhra Pradesh, GJMM has called a series of strikes starting with 96 hrs strike from 12th January to 15th January.
Gorkha Janmukti Morcha, the main political organisation of Darjeeling hills spearheading the demand of Gorkhaland, has welcomed the report and announced that to protest the stepmotherly treatment of the concerned govt towards the Gorkhas it has declared a series of strikes to intensify its movement.
The 96 hours long bundh in the proposed Gorkhaland area with effect from the 12th of January will be followed by similar kind of bundh from 18 to 25 January and 29 January to 12 February, 2011. Party has further announced to organise fast-unto-death immediately from 16th February to be participated by Bimal Gurung and Roshan Giri and other 1st line leaders like Presidents and Secretaries of Sub Divisional Committees if its demand to create a separate state of Gorkhaland is not considered by the govt.
Observers feel that the decision of the GJM has put a question mark on the  proposed interim set-up which the party has been bargaining till date with the govt. They also view that the Srikrishna Committee report would definitely add more fuel to the fire in other parts of the country where similar kind of demands are being raised by the different outfits.
Back home, the hill people have started to change their scheduled programmes in view of the proposed bundhs.
Appetite whetted, Morcha piles heat for statehood committee.
